⸮ Punctuation

— Maqqef

The maqaf (מקף‎) 〈‎〉 is the Hebrew hyphen 〈-〉, and has virtually the same purpose for connecting two words as in English. It is different from the hyphen in its positioning (a hyphen is in the middle in terms of height, the maqaf is at the top) and it has a biblical origin,[8] unlike many other Modern Hebrew punctuation symbols, which have simply been imported from European languages. [source]

The word Maqqef means binder and functions much like the hyphen in English. That is, two words of a word pair, are joined to gether to form a new word as a new word, and changes in the vocalization of the word unit often occurs. [source]

If a word has a Maqqef (hyphen), the stress shifts away from the preceding word and attends to the following word.

In the example above, the two words ben and adam together mean “son of man”

← Prefixes

ל Lamed

A common use of the preposition ל (also אל, with verbs of speaking) is to indicate the indirect object or recipient of the verbal action. When used in this way, the preposition is usually translated into English with “to” or “for”, or it can be left untranslated. [source]

→ Suffixes

ה Paragogic He

The paragogic ה (he) suffix can only attach to an imperative verb and most likely expresses some kind of added emphasis to the verb. However, the specific nature and meaning of this emphasis is unknown.

This suffix should not be confused with the cohortative verbal ending, although they appear exactly alike. These suffixes are distinguished by the form of the verb to which they are attached. The paragogic ה suffix always attaches to an imperative verb in Biblical Hebrew, whereas the cohortative qamets-he ending always attaches to an imperfect verb to form the specific cohortative verbal form.

This suffix consists of a ה (he) consonant preceded by a qamets vowel.

☄ Fasting

  1. [Isaiah 58:3-12 KJV] 3 Wherefore have we fasted, [say they], and thou seest not? [wherefore] have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours. 4 Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as [ye do this] day, to make your voice to be heard on high. 5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? [is it] to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes [under him]? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to YAHUAH? 6 [Is] not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? 7 [Is it] not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? 8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of YAHUAH shall be thy rereward[h622]gathering. 9 Then shalt thou call, and YAHUAH shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I [am]. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; 10 And [if] thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness [be] as the noonday: 11 And YAHUAH shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. 12 And of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations[h4146] of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer[h1443] of the breach[h6556], The restorer of paths to dwell in.

    1. [Ezekiel 22:27-30 KJV] 27 Her princes in the midst thereof [are] like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, [and] to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain. 28 And her prophets have daubed them with untempered [morter], seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken. 29 The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully. 30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up[h1443]to repair the hedge[h1447], and stand in the gap[h6556]in the breach before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

    2. [Amos 9:11-15 KJV] 11 In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old: 12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the LORD that doeth this. 13 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt. 14 And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit [them]; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. 15 And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.

    3. [Joel 3:18-21 KJV] 18 And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of Shittim. 19 Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence [against] the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land. 20 But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation. 21 For I will cleanse their blood [that] I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in Zion.

את First and Last

  1. [Isaiah 41:4 KJV*] 4 Who has worked and done, calling [הדרות][h1755]the genomes [h7218]from the head? I YAHUAH, first and lasts of Aleph/Tav; I [am] he.

    1. Note the first is singular but the lasts are plural, implying one source or beginning but multiple sinks or endings.

    2. The Vav/Aleph/Tav symbol does not follow an Aleph/Tav symbol in this verse but rather it stands alone as a bridge connecting the words preceding and following it

▣ Foundation

  1. [1 Corinthians 3:6-19 KJV] 6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. 8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. 9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, God’s building. 10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Yahusha Messiah. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. 14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. 16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which ye are. 18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

    1. Lies and Idolatry

    2. It only takes one small crack to cause a foundation to fail. That small crack will grow and undermine the entire building.

    3. [Romans 3:4 KJV] 4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

    4. [Jeremiah 51:17 KJV] 17 Every man is brutish by [his] knowledge; every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image [is] falsehood, and [there is] no breath in them.

    5. [Isaiah 44:9-20 KJV] 9 They that make a graven image [are] all of them vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they [are] their own witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed. 10 Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image [that] is profitable for nothing? 11 Behold, all his fellows shall be ashamed: and the workmen, they [are] of men: let them all be gathered together, let them stand up; [yet] they shall fear, [and] they shall be ashamed together. 12 The smith with the tongs both worketh in the coals, and fashioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with the strength of his arms: yea, he is hungry, and his strength faileth: he drinketh no water, and is faint. 13 The carpenter stretcheth out [his] rule; he marketh it out with a line; he fitteth it with planes, and he marketh it out with the compass, and maketh it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house. 14 He heweth him down cedars, and taketh the cypress and the oak, which he strengtheneth for himself among the trees of the forest: he planteth an ash, and the rain doth nourish [it]. 15 Then shall it be for a man to burn: for he will take thereof, and warm himself; yea, he kindleth [it], and baketh bread; yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth [it]; he maketh it a graven image, and falleth down thereto. 16 He burneth part thereof in the fire; with part thereof he eateth flesh; he roasteth roast, and is satisfied: yea, he warmeth [himself], and saith, Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire: 17 And the residue thereof he maketh a god, [even] his graven image: he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth [it], and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou [art] my god. 18 They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; [and] their hearts, that they cannot understand. 19 And none considereth in his heart, neither [is there] knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten [it]: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree? 20 He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, [Is there] not a lie in my right hand?

    6. [2 Thessalonians 2:8-17 KJV] 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 [Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. 16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given [us] everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, 17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

  2. [Jeremiah 51:24-26 KJV] 24 And I will render unto Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight, saith the LORD. 25 Behold, I [am] against thee, O destroying mountain, saith the LORD, which destroyest all the earth: and I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and roll thee down from the rocks, and will make thee a burnt mountain. 26 And they shall not take of thee a stone for a corner, nor a stone for foundations; but thou shalt be desolate for ever, saith the LORD.

    1. [Ezra 9:8-9 KJV] 8 And now for a little space grace hath been from YAHUAH our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail[h3489] in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage. 9 For we [were] bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.

[Isaiah 22:20-25 KJV] 20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah: 21 And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah. 22 And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open. 23 And I will fasten him [as] a nail[h3489] in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father’s house. 24 And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father’s house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons. 25 In that day, saith YAHUAH of hosts, shall the nail[h3489] that is fastened in the sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that [was] upon it shall be cut off: for YAHUAH hath spoken [it].

◌ Nakedness

  1. h6172

    1. [Deuteronomy 23:12-14 KJV] 12 Thou shalt have a place also without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad: 13 And there shall be [h3489]a nail for you upon your weapon; and it shall be, sitting yourself down outside, you shalt dig with her, and shalt turn back and cover your excrement of Aleph/Tav: 14 For YAHUAH your Alahym walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you, and to give up your enemies before your face; therefore your camp shall be [h6918]sanctified: that he see no [h1697]word of [h6172]nakedness in you, and turn away [h310]from behind you.

    2. [Deuteronomy 24:1-5 KJV] 1 When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found a [h1697]word of [h6172]nakedness in her: then let him write for her [h5612]a book of divorcement, and give into her hand, and send her from his house. 2 And when she is departed from his house, she may go and be for another man. 3 And [if] the latter man hate her, and write for her a book of divorcement, and giveth into her hand, and send her from his house; or if the latter man die, which took her for his wife; 4 Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that [is] abomination before YAHUAH: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which YAHUAH thy God giveth thee [for] an inheritance. 5 When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: [but] he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.

⚔ Twoedged Sword | Mouth Sword

  1. [Psalms 149:5-9 KJV] 5 The saints rejoice in glory. They sing aloud upon their beds. 6 Exaltation of Al in their throat, and a sword twoedged[פיפיות][h6374]of mouths in their hand; 7 To execute vengeance upon [h1471]the nations, [h8433]reproofs of [בלאמים]Baal’s peoples; 8 To bind their kings with chains, [h3513]and their honored with fetters of iron; 9 To execute upon them written judgment: this [h1926]splendour to all his saints. Praise[h1984][הללו] YAH!

    1. The Hebrew word פיפיות (פיפיות) is the plural form of פיפיה, meaning “edges” or “two edges.” It is often used to describe a double-edged sword (חרב פיפיות), a sword with two cutting edges. The term פיפיות literally means “of edges” or “of mouths,” and metaphorically, it can represent something sharp, incisive, or piercing.

    2. The Hebrew phrase בלאמים (בלאמים) can be related to the name Balaam (בלעם), a non-Israelite diviner mentioned in the Hebrew Bible. The name Balaam is commonly understood to mean “Destroyer of People” or “Swallowing Up the People.” It is derived from two components: the verb בלע (bala’), meaning “to swallow,” and the noun עם (‘am), meaning “people” or “nation.” Thus, Balaam’s name signifies someone who causes destruction or swallowing up of peoples, fitting his biblical narrative as one who was hired to curse Israel but ended up blessing them instead בלאמים relates to Balaam’s name and meaning.

    3. [Matthew 12:28-29 KJV] 28 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. 29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and plunder his vessels, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will plunder his house.

    4. [Acts 16:25-26 KJV] 25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. 26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

    5. [Ephesians 4:8 KJV] 8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

    6. [1 Samuel 16:23 KJV] 23 And it came to pass, in there being Alahym’s spirit[h7307][רוח] toward Saul, when David took Aleph/Tav–the harp and played with his hand, [ורוח][h7304]and a spirit to Saul, and was good for him, and the evil spirit departed from upon him.

  2. [Proverbs 5:3-5 KJV] 3 For the lips of a strange woman drop a honeycomb, and her mouth smoother than oil: 4 But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a sword [פיות][h6310]of mouths. 5 Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on Sheol.

  3. [Hebrews 4:12-13 KJV] 12 For the logos of God [is] living, and working, and sharper than any twoedged[g1366] sword, piercing until [μερισμός][g3311]division of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things [are] naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

    1. Merism is a rhetorical device in which a combination of two contrasting parts of the whole refer to the whole. For example, in order to say that someone “searched everywhere”, one could use the merism “searched high and low”.

    2. Aleph/Tav is a merism for the letters of the Hebrew alephbet, and by extension, for the lexicon of all creation

    3. The Greek word merismos, rendered as “division”, carries with it the idea of gradation. The logos acts as an analog to digital converter, quantizing that which it acts upon, in order to produce a spectrum of elements. Compare with the Fourier Transform

      1. The Fourier transform is a mathematical operation that transforms a function, usually representing a signal in the time or spatial domain, into another function that represents the same signal in the frequency domain. Essentially, it decomposes a complex function into its constituent frequencies, much like breaking down a musical chord into its individual notes. The result is a complex-valued function that shows how much of each frequency is present in the original function.

      2. Key properties include linearity, time and frequency shifting, and scaling. The Fourier transform is widely used in many fields like signal processing, physics, engineering, and image analysis because it provides a way to study the frequency content of signals and systems. It also has an inverse operation that can reconstruct the original function from its frequency components.

    4. In dividing the joints and marrow, the logos does the work of a mass spectrometer or scanning electron microscope

      1. Mass spectrometry works by first converting molecules or atoms in a sample into ions, which are charged particles. These ions are then separated based on their mass-to-charge ratio (m/z) and detected to give information about the composition of the sample.

[Ezekiel 47:1-14 KJV] 1 Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house [stood toward] the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south [side] of the altar. 2 Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the way without unto the utter gate by the way that looketh eastward; and, behold, there ran out waters on the right side. 3 And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters [were] to the ankles. 4 Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through the waters; the waters [were] to the knees. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the waters [were] to the loins. 5 Afterward he measured a thousand; [and it was] a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over. 6 And he said unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen [this]? Then he brought me, and caused me to return to the brink of the river. 7 Now when I had returned, behold, at the bank of the river [were] very many trees on the one side and on the other. 8 Then said he unto me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: [which being] brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed. 9 And it shall come to pass, [that] every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh. 10 And it shall come to pass, [that] the fishers shall stand upon it from Engedi even unto Eneglaim; they shall be a [place] to spread forth nets; their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceeding many. 11 But the miry places thereof and the marishes thereof shall not be healed; they shall be given to salt. 12 And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine. 13 Thus saith the Lord GOD; This [shall be] the border, whereby ye shall inherit the land according to the twelve tribes of Israel: Joseph [shall have two] portions. 14 And ye shall inherit it, one as well as another: [concerning] the which I lifted up mine hand to give it unto your fathers: and the land cut from {Zayin/}Aleph/Tav shall fall unto you by inheritance.
