Chapter 18

  1. [Lev 18:1-30 NKJV] 1 Then YAHUAH spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘I am YAHUAH your God. 3 ‘According to the doings of the land of Egypt, where you dwelt, you shall not do; and according to the doings of the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you, you shall not do; nor shall you walk in their ordinances. 4 ‘You shall observe My judgments and keep My ordinances, to walk in them: I [am] YAHUAH your God. 5 ‘You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, which if a man does, he shall live by them: I [am] YAHUAH. 6 ‘None of you shall approach anyone who is near of kin to him, to uncover his nakedness: I [am] YAHUAH. 7 ‘The nakedness of your father or the nakedness of your mother you shall not uncover. She [is] your mother; you shall not uncover her nakedness. 8 ‘The nakedness of your father’s wife you shall not uncover; it [is] your father’s nakedness. 9 ‘The nakedness of your sister, the daughter of your father, or the daughter of your mother, [whether] born at home or elsewhere, their nakedness you shall not uncover. 10 ‘The nakedness of your son’s daughter or your daughter’s daughter, their nakedness you shall not uncover; for theirs [is] your own nakedness. 11 ‘The nakedness of your father’s wife’s daughter, begotten by your father—she [is] your sister—you shall not uncover her nakedness. 12 ‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s sister; she [is] near of kin to your father. 13 ‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother’s sister, for she [is] near of kin to your mother. 14 ‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s brother. You shall not approach his wife; she [is] your aunt. 15 ‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law—she [is] your son’s wife—you shall not uncover her nakedness. 16 ‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother’s wife; it [is] your brother’s nakedness. 17 ‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, nor shall you take her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter, to uncover her nakedness. They [are] near of kin to her. It [is] wickedness. 18 ‘Nor shall you take a woman as a rival to her sister, to uncover her nakedness while the other is alive. 19 ‘Also you shall not approach a woman to uncover her nakedness as long as she is in her [customary] impurity. 20 ‘Moreover you shall not lie carnally with your neighbor’s wife, to defile yourself with her. 21 ‘And you shall not let any of your descendants pass through to Molech, nor shall you profane the name of your God: I [am] YAHUAH. 22 ‘You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It [is] an abomination. 23 ‘Nor shall you mate with any animal, to defile yourself with it. Nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it. It [is] perversion. 24 ‘Do not defile yourselves with any of these things; for by all these the nations are defiled, which I am casting out before you. 25 ‘For the land is defiled; therefore I visit the punishment of its iniquity upon it, and the land vomits out its inhabitants. 26 ‘You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, and shall not commit [any] of these abominations, [either] any of your own nation or any stranger who dwells among you 27 ‘(for all these abominations the men of the land have done, who [were] before you, and thus the land is defiled), 28 ‘lest the land vomit you out also when you defile it, as it vomited out the nations that [were] before you. 29 ‘For whoever commits any of these abominations, the persons who commit [them] shall be cut off from among their people. 30 ‘Therefore you shall keep My ordinance, so that [you] do not commit [any] of these abominable customs which were committed before you, and that you do not defile yourselves by them: I [am] YAHUAH your God.’ ”

    1. [Exo 32:1-35 NKJV] 1 Now when the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, the people gathered together to Aaron, and said to him, “Come, make us gods that shall go before us; for [as for] this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.” 2 And Aaron said to them, “Break off the golden earrings which [are] in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring [them] to me.” 3 So all the people broke off the golden earrings which [were] in their ears, and brought [them] to Aaron. 4 And he received [the gold] from their hand, and he fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made a molded calf. Then they said, “This [is] your god, O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt!” 5 So when Aaron saw [it], he built an altar before it. And Aaron made a proclamation and said, “Tomorrow [is] a feast to YAHUAH.” 6 Then they rose early on the next day, offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. 7 And YAHUAH said to Moses, “Go, get down! For your people whom you brought out of the land of Egypt have corrupted [themselves]. 8 “They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them. They have made themselves a molded calf, and worshiped it and sacrificed to it, and said, ‘This [is] your god, O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt!’ ” 9 And YAHUAH said to Moses, “I have seen this people, and indeed it [is] a stiff-necked people! 10 “Now therefore, let Me alone, that My wrath may burn hot against them and I may consume them. And I will make of you a great nation.” 11 Then Moses pleaded with YAHUAH his God, and said: “LORD, why does Your wrath burn hot against Your people whom You have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand? 12 “Why should the Egyptians speak, and say, ‘He brought them out to harm them, to kill them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth’? Turn from Your fierce wrath, and relent from this harm to Your people. 13 “Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants, to whom You swore by Your own self, and said to them, ‘I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven; and all this land that I have spoken of I give to your descendants, and they shall inherit [it] forever.’ ” 14 So YAHUAH relented from the harm which He said He would do to His people. 15 And Moses turned and went down from the mountain, and the two tablets of the Testimony [were] in his hand. The tablets [were] written on both sides; on the one [side] and on the other they were written. 16 Now the tablets [were] the work of God, and the writing [was] the writing of God engraved on the tablets. 17 And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said to Moses, “[There is] a noise of war in the camp.” 18 But he said: “[It is] not the noise of the shout of victory, Nor the noise of the cry of defeat, [But] the sound of singing I hear.” 19 So it was, as soon as he came near the camp, that he saw the calf [and] the dancing. So Moses’ anger became hot, and he cast the tablets out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mountain. 20 Then he took the calf which they had made, burned [it] in the fire, and ground [it] to powder; and he scattered [it] on the water and made the children of Israel drink [it]. 21 And Moses said to Aaron, “What did this people do to you that you have brought [so] great a sin upon them?” 22 So Aaron said, “Do not let the anger of my lord become hot. You know the people, that they [are set] on evil. 23 “For they said to me, ‘Make us gods that shall go before us; [as for] this Moses, the man who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.’ 24 “And I said to them, ‘Whoever has any gold, let them break [it] off.’ So they gave [it] to me, and I cast it into the fire, and this calf came out.” 25 Now when Moses saw that the people [were] unrestrained (for Aaron had not restrained them, to [their] shame among their enemies), 26 then Moses stood in the entrance of the camp, and said, “Whoever [is] on YAHUAH’s side—[come] to me!” And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together to him. 27 And he said to them, “Thus says YAHUAH God of Israel: ‘Let every man put his sword on his side, and go in and out from entrance to entrance throughout the camp, and let every man kill his brother, every man his companion, and every man his neighbor.’ ” 28 So the sons of Levi did according to the word of Moses. And about three thousand men of the people fell that day. 29 Then Moses said, “Consecrate yourselves today to YAHUAH, that He may bestow on you a blessing this day, for every man has opposed his son and his brother.” 30 Now it came to pass on the next day that Moses said to the people, “You have committed a great sin. So now I will go up to YAHUAH; perhaps I can make atonement for your sin.” 31 Then Moses returned to YAHUAH and said, “Oh, these people have committed a great sin, and have made for themselves a god of gold! 32 “Yet now, if You will forgive their sin—but if not, I pray, blot me out of Your book which You have written.” 33 And YAHUAH said to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot him out of My book. 34 “Now therefore, go, lead the people to [the place] of which I have spoken to you. Behold, My Angel shall go before you. Nevertheless, in the day when I visit for punishment, I will visit punishment upon them for their sin.” 35 So YAHUAH plagued the people because of what they did with the calf which Aaron made.

    2. [Exo 20:20-26 KJV] 20 And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not. 21 And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God [was]. 22 And YAHUAH said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven. 23 Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold. 24 An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee. 25 And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it. 26 Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.

    3. [Jas 3:10-12 KJV] 10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. 11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet [water] and bitter? 12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so [can] no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

    4. [Mat 5:37 KJV] 37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

    5. [Rev 2:18-23 KJV] 18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet [are] like fine brass; 19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last [to be] more than the first. 20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. 21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. 22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. 23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

    6. [Gen 3:1-21 KJV] 1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which YAHUAH God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which [is] in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree [was] good for food, and that it [was] pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make [one] wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they [were] naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. 8 And they heard the voice of YAHUAH God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of YAHUAH God amongst the trees of the garden. 9 And YAHUAH God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where [art] thou? 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I [was] naked; and I hid myself. 11 And he said, Who told thee that thou [wast] naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? 12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest [to be] with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. 13 And YAHUAH God said unto the woman, What [is] this [that] thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. 14 And YAHUAH God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou [art] cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. 16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire [shall be] to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. 17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed [is] the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat [of] it all the days of thy life; 18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; 19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou [art], and unto dust shalt thou return. 20 And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living. 21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did YAHUAH God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
