  1. [Genesis 13:1-18 KJV*]

  1. 1 And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south.
  2. 2 And Abram very [h3513]heavy in cattle, in silver, and in gold.
  3. 3 And he went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been there at the beginning, between Bethel and Hai;
  4. 4 Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of YAHUAH.
  5. 5 And Lot also, which went Aleph/Tav–Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.
  6. 6 And the land was not able to bear Aleph/Tav{/Mem} them, that they might dwell together: for their goods were many, so that they could not dwell together.
  7. 7 And there was [h7379]conflict between Abram’s [h4735]cattle [h7473]shepherds and between Lot’s [h4735]cattle [h7473]shepherds: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land[h776].
  8. 8 And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife[h4808], I beseech you, between me and thee, and between [h7473]my shepherds and between [h7473]your shepherds; for we [are] brethren[h251] [h376]men.
  9. 9 [Is] not the whole land before you? separate yourself, I beseech you, from me: if the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if to the right hand, then I will go to the left.
  10. 10 And Lot lifted up Aleph/Tav–his eyes, and saw Aleph/Tav–all–the plain[h3603] of Jordan[h3383], that [h4945]drink[cx] [was] everywhere—before YAHUAH destroyed Aleph/Tav–Sodom and Aleph/Tav–Gomorrah—like the garden of YAHUAH, like the land of Egypt, as you come to Zoar[cy].
  11. 11 Then Lot chose for himself Aleph/Tav–all–the plain[h3603] of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east[h6924][מ[cz]קּדם]: and they separated themselves man from beside his brother.
  12. 12 Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched tent toward Sodom.
  13. 13 But the men of Sodom [were] [h7451]evil [h7451]and sinful to YAHUAH, exceedingly.
  14. 14 And YAHUAH said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now your eyes, and look from the place where Aleph/Tav{/Hey} you [are] [שׁם][h8033]there[da] northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:
  15. 15 For Aleph/Tav–all–the land which Aleph/Tav{/Hey} you see, to you will I give it, and to your seed up to [h5769]eternity.
  16. 16 [h7760]And I will set Aleph/Tav–your seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number Aleph/Tav–dust of the earth, shall your seed also be numbered.
  17. 17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto you.
  18. 18 Then Abram removed tent, and came and dwelt in the plain[h436] of Mamre[h4471], which in Hebron, and built there[h8033][שׁם] an altar unto YAHUAH.

Discussion

  1. Promise to inherit

  1. [Matthew 12:43-45 KJV] 43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. 44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth [it] empty, swept, and garnished. 45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
  2. [Luke 16:19-29 KJV] 19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: 20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in Hades he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in your lifetime receivedst your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that [would come] from thence. 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: 28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
  3. [Isaiah 29:8-12 KJV] 8 It shall even be as when an hungry [man] dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, [he is] faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion. 9 Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry you out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink. 10 For YAHUAH hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered. 11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which [men] deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it [is] sealed: 12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
