  1. [Genesis 16:1-16 KJV*]

  1. 1 Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid[h8198], an Egyptian, whose name Hagar[h1904].
  2. 2 And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, YAHUAH [h6113]has shut me from bearing: I pray you, go in unto my maid; [h194]perhaps [h1129]I will build[eo] from out of her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.
  3. 3 And Sarai Abram's wife took Aleph/Tav–Hagar her maid the Egyptian[h4713], after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave Aleph/Tav/{Hey} her to her husband Abram to be his wife.
  4. 4 And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived[h2029]: and when she saw that she had conceived, [h7043]she made light of her mistress in her eyes.
  5. 5 And Sarai said unto Abram, [h2555]My violence upon you: I have given my maid into your bosom[h2436]; and when she saw that she had conceived, [h7043]I was made light of  in her eyes: YAHUAH judge between me and you.
  6. 6 But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, your maid in your hand; do to her as seems good in your eyes. And when Sarai [h6031]afflicted her, she fled from her face.
  7. 7 And the angel of YAHUAH found her by [h5869]an eye of the water in the wilderness, by the eye on the way to Shur[ep].
  8. 8 And he said, Hagar, Sarai's maid, whence camest thou? and whither will thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.
  9. 9 And the angel of YAHUAH said unto her, Return to your mistress, [h6031]and humble yourself under her hands.
  10. 10 And the angel of YAHUAH said unto her, I will multiply[h7235] Aleph/Tav–your seed [h7235]to be multiplied, that it shall not be numbered[h5608] for multitude[h7230].
  11. 11 And the angel of YAHUAH said unto her, Behold, thou [art] with child, and shall bear a son, and shall call his name Ishmael[h3458][ישׁמעאל]; because YAHUAH hath heard[h8085][שׁמע] your affliction[h6040].
  12. 12 And he will be [h6501]a wild ass [h120]Adam; his hand on all, and every hand on him; and he shall dwell upon the face of all his brethren.
  13. 13 And she called the name of YAHUAH that spake unto her, Aleph/Tav{/Hey} You God[h410] see me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?
  14. 14 Wherefore the well[h875] was called Beerlahairoi[h883]; behold, [it is] between Kadesh[eq] and Bered[er].
  15. 15 And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son's name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael.
  16. 16 And Abram [was] fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bare Aleph/Tav–Ishmael to Abram.

Discussion

  1. Promises Made to Abram

  1. [Gen 12:1-3] 1 Now YAHUAH had said unto Abram, Get you out of your country, and from your kindred, and from your father's house, unto a land that I will show you: 2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curse you: and in you shall all families of [h127]the ground be blessed.
  2. [Gen 13:14-18] 14 And YAHUAH said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now your eyes, and look from the place where Aleph/Tav{/Hey} you [are] [שׁם][h8033]there northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: 15 For Aleph/Tav–all–the land which Aleph/Tav{/Hey} you see, to you will I give it, and to your seed up to [h5769]eternity. 16 [h7760]And I will set Aleph/Tav–your seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number Aleph/Tav–dust of the earth, shall your seed also be numbered. 17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto you. 18 Then Abram removed tent, and came and dwelt in the plain[h436] of Mamre[h4471], which in Hebron, and built there[h8033][שׁם] an altar unto YAHUAH.
  3. [Gen 14:18-24] 18 And Melchizedek[h4442] king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he priest to God[h410][לאל] most high[h5945]. 19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram to God[h410][לאל] most high[h5945], possessor[h7069] of heaven and earth: 20 And blessed be God[h410][אל] most high[h5945], which hath delivered yours enemies into your hand. And he gave him tithes[h4643] of all. 21 And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me [h5315]the souls, and take the goods to thyself. 22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto YAHUAH, God[h410][אל] most high[h5945], the possessor of heaven and earth, 23 That I will not [take] from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that [is] yours, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Aleph/Tav–Abram rich: 24 Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.
  4. [Gen 15:1-2, 4-10, 13] The words after those were YAHUAH’s word to Abram in a vision, to say, Fear not, Abram: I [am]  shield[h4043] for you, [h7939]your wage [h7235]caused to multiply [h3966]greatly. 2 And Abram said, Lord YAHUAH, what will you give me, I go childless, and son steward[h4943][משׁק] of my house [is] this Eliezer of Damascus? … 4 And, behold, the word of YAHUAH unto him, saying, This shall not [3423]possess yours; but he that shall come forth out of yours own bowels [3423]shall possess yours. 5 And he brought Aleph/Tav{/Vav} him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell[h5608] the stars, if you be able [h5608]to tell Aleph/Tav{/Mem} them: and he said unto him, So shall your seed be. 6 And he believed[h539] in YAHUAH; [h2803]and he counted her to him righteousness. 7 And he said unto him, I [am] YAHUAH that brought you out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give you Aleph/Tav–the land cut from {Zayin/}Aleph/Tav [h3423]to possess her. 8 And he said, Lord YAHUAH, in what shall I know that [h3423]I shall possess her? 9 And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon. 10 And he took unto him Aleph/Tav–all–these, and divided Aleph/Tav{/Mem} them in the midst, and gave [h376]man his part [לקראת][h7125]to meet [h7453]his neighbor but Aleph/Tav–the birds he divided not. … 13 And he said unto Abram, Know[h3045] [h3045]to know that your seed shall be a stranger in a land not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict[h6031] Aleph/Tav{/Mem} them four hundred years; 14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance. 15 And you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried in a good old age.
  1. Make Light of

  1. [Lev 24:10-14] 10 And an Israelitish[h3482] woman’s son who was also the son of an Egyptian[h4713] man, went out into the midst of the children of Israel[h3478]: and the Israelitish[h3482] son and an Israelite[h3481] man struggled[h5327] in the camp; 11 And the Israelitish woman's son [h5344]engraved the name את־ and [h7043]made light. And they brought him אתו unto Moses (and his mother's name [was] Shelomith[h8019], the daughter of Dibri[h1704], of the tribe of Dan[h1835]:). 12 And they put him under arrest[h4929] to explain to them by the mouth of YAHUAH. 13 And YAHUAH spoke unto Moses, saying, 14 Bring [h7043]him that made light את־ to the outside of the camp and let all that heard את־ lay their hands את־ upon his head, and let all the congregation stone אתו him.
  1. Wild Ass

  1. [Exodus 13:12-16 KJV] 12 That thou shall set apart unto YAHUAH all that openeth the matrix, and every firstling that cometh of a beast which thou hast; the males [shall be] YAHUAH'S. 13 And every firstling of an ass thou shall redeem with a lamb; and if thou will not redeem it, then thou shall break his neck: and all the firstborn of man among your children shall thou redeem. 14 And it shall be when your son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What [is] this? that thou shall say unto him, By strength of hand YAHUAH brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage: 15 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that YAHUAH slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to YAHUAH all that openeth the matrix, being males; but all the firstborn of my children I redeem. 16 And it shall be for a token upon yours hand, and for frontlets between yours eyes: for by strength of hand YAHUAH brought us forth out of Egypt.
  2. [Exodus 34:19-20 KJV] 19 All that openeth the matrix [is] mine; and every firstling among your cattle, ox or sheep. 20 But the firstling of an ass thou shall redeem with a lamb: and if thou redeem not, then shall thou break his neck. All the firstborn of your sons thou shall redeem. And none shall appear before me empty.
  3. [Matthew 21:1-11 KJV] 1 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Yahusha two disciples, 2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway you shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose [them], and bring [them] unto me. 3 And if any [man] say ought unto you, you shall say, YAHUAH hath need of them; and straightway he will send them. 4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, 5 Tell you the daughter of Sion, Behold, your King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass. 6 And the disciples went, and did as Yahusha commanded them, 7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set [him] thereon. 8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed [them] in the way. 9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of YAHUAH; Hosanna in the highest. 10 And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this? 11 And the multitude said, This is Yahusha the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.
  4. [Luke 19:28-44 KJV] 28 And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem. 29 And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called [the mount] of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, 30 Saying, Go you into the village over against [you]; in the which at your entering you shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring. 31 And if any man ask you, Why do you loose? thus shall you say unto him, Because YAHUAH hath need of him. 32 And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them. 33 And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose you the colt? 34 And they said, YAHUAH hath need of him. 35 And they brought him to Yahusha: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Yahusha thereon. 36 And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way. 37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; 38 Saying, Blessed [be] the King that cometh in the name of YAHUAH: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. 39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke your disciples. 40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out. 41 And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, 42 Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this your day, the things unto your peace! but now they are hid from yours eyes. 43 For the days shall come upon thee, that yours enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, 44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and your children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of your visitation.
  5. [Matthew 11:28-30 KJV] 28 Come unto me, all  that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke easy, and my burden is light.
