[Genesis 3:1-24 ESV*]
- [Genesis 3:1-24 ESV] 1 Now the serpent[h5175] was crafty[h6175] [h3605]of all [h2416]creature[s] of the field[h7704] that YAHUAH Alahym had made. And he said to the woman, "Did Alahym [h637]also say, 'You shall not eat [h3605]from any tree in the garden'?"
- 2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the garden of tree[s],
- 3 but of the fruit of the tree that is in the middle of the garden, Alahym said, 'You shall not eat [h4480]from him, and you shall not touch on him, lest [תּמתוּן[v]][h4191]you die a little.'"
- 4 But the serpent said to the woman, "[תּמתוּן][h4191]You shall not die a little [מות][h4191]to die.
- 5 For Alahym knows that when you eat from him your eyes will be opened, and you will be like Alahym, knowing good and evil."
- 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also[h1571] gave some to her man with her, and he ate.
- 7 Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked[h5903]. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.
- 8 And they heard Aleph/Tav–[h6963]the voice, of YAHUAH Alahym [h1980]going in the garden [h7307]to the spirit of the day, and the Adam and his woman hid themselves from the face of YAHUAH Alahym in between the garden tree[s].
- 9 But YAHUAH Alahym called to the Adam and said to him, "Where are you?"
- 10 And he said, "I heard [h6963] Aleph/Tav–your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked[h5903], and I hid myself."
- 11 He said, "Who told you that Aleph/Tav{/Hey} you were naked[h5903]? From the tree which I commanded you to eat nothing, have you eaten from him?”
- 12 And the Adam said, "The woman whom you gave with me, she gave me fruit from the tree, and I ate."
- 13 Then YAHUAH Alahym said what cut from {Zayin/}Aleph/Tav have you [h6213]made?" And the woman said, "The serpent[h5175] deceived[h5377] me, and I ate."
- 14 And YAHUAH Alahym said to the serpent, "Because you have [h6213]made a cut from {Zayin/}Aleph/Tav, cursed are you of all [h929]the animal[s] and of any creature of the field; on your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life.
- 15 I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel."
- 16 To the woman he said, "I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be contrary to your husband, but he shall rule over you."
- 17 And to Adam he said, "Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, 'You shall not eat of it,' cursed is the ground because of you; in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life;
- 18 thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you; and you shall eat the plants of the field.
- 19 By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for from her you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return."
- 20 And the Adam called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all living.
- 21 And YAHUAH Alahym made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them.
- 22 And YAHUAH Alahym said, Behold, the Adam is become as one from him, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also from the tree of lives, and eat, and live [h5769]to eternity
- 23 Therefore YAHUAH Alahym sent him forth from the garden of Eden, [h5647]to serve Aleph/Tav–the ground from whence he was taken.
- 24 So he drove out Aleph/Tav–the Adam; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Aleph/Tav–the Cherubims, extending to Aleph/Tav the flaming sword [h2015]which turned itself, to keep Aleph/Tav–the way of the tree of lives.
Questions
How is the craftiness of the serpent related to the nakedness of Adam and Eve?
- [Gen 2:25 KJV*] And the two of them were naked[h6174], the Adam [h802]and his woman, and were not ashamed[h954].
- [Genesis 3:1-24 ESV] 1 Now the serpent[h5175] was crafty[h6175] [h3605]of all [h2416]creature[s] of the field[h7704] that YAHUAH Alahym had made …
Brides and Wives
- [Ephesians 5:22-33 KJV] 22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto YAHUAH. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Messiah is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Messiah, so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in every thing. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Messiah also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. 29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as YAHUAH the church: 30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Messiah and the church. 33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife [see] that she reverence [her] husband.
- [Revelation 21:1-12 KJV] 1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God [is] with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, [and be] their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. 9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. 10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11 Having the glory of God: and her light [was] like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; 12 And had a wall great and high, [and] had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are [the names] of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
- [Jeremiah 16:9-13 KJV] 9 For thus saith YAHUAH of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, and in your days, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride. 10 And it shall come to pass, when thou shall shew this people all these words, and they shall say unto thee, Wherefore hath YAHUAH pronounced all this great evil against us? or what [is] our iniquity? or what [is] our sin that we have committed against YAHUAH our God? 11 Then shall thou say unto them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, saith YAHUAH, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshipped them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law; 12 And you have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, you walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that they may not hearken unto me: 13 Therefore will I cast you out of this land into a land that you know not, [neither] you nor your fathers; and there shall you serve other gods day and night; where I will not shew you favour.
- [Jeremiah 25:10-11 KJV] 10 Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle. 11 And this whole land shall be a desolation, [and] an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
- [Jeremiah 2:11-13, 31-32 KJV] 11 Hath a nation changed [their] gods, which [are] yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for [that which] doth not profit. 12 Be astonished, O you heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be you very desolate, saith YAHUAH. 13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, [and] hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. ... 31 O generation, see you the word of YAHUAH. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? a land of darkness? wherefore say my people, We are lords; we will come no more unto thee? 32 Can a maid forget her ornaments, [or] a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.
- [Proverbs 9:13-18 KJV] 13 A foolish woman [is] clamorous: [she is] simple, and knoweth nothing. 14 For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city, 15 To call passengers who go right on their ways: 16 Whoso [is] simple, let him turn in hither: and [as for] him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him, 17 Stolen waters are sweet, and bread [eaten] in secret is pleasant. 18 But he knoweth not that the dead [are] there; [and that] her guests [are] in the depths of hell.
Nakedness and Blindness
- [Exodus 34:29-35 KJV] 29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. 30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him. 31 And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them. 32 And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that YAHUAH had spoken with him in mount Sinai. 33 And [till] Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face. 34 But when Moses went in before YAHUAH to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel [that] which he was commanded. 35 And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him.
- [Revelation 3:14-18 KJV] 14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; 15 I know your works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and [that] the shame of your nakedness do not appear; and anoint yours eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
- [Matthew 17:1-2 KJV] 1 And after six days Yahusha taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, 2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
- [Mark 9:2-3 KJV] 2 And after six days Yahusha taketh [with him] Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them. 3 And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.
- [Daniel 10:4-9 KJV] 4 And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which [is] Hiddekel; 5 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins [were] girded with fine gold of Uphaz: 6 His body also [was] like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude. 7 And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves. 8 Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength. 9 Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.
- [Luke 22:63-65 KJV] 63 And the men that held Yahusha mocked him, and smote [him]. 64 And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee? 65 And many other things blasphemously spake they against him.
- [Luke 23:33-35 KJV] 33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. 34 Then said Yahusha, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. 35 And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided [him], saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.
Death and Rebirth
- [John 3:3-8, 13-21 KJV] 3 Yahusha answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5 Yahusha answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, You must be born again. 8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. ... 13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, [even] the Son of man which is in heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Dust of the Ground
- [Numbers 5:11-24 KJV] 11 And YAHUAH spake unto Moses, saying, 12 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man's wife go aside, and commit a trespass against him, 13 And a man lie with her carnally, and it be hid from the eyes of her husband, and be kept close, and she be defiled, and [there be] no witness against her, neither she be taken [with the manner]; 14 And the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be defiled: or if the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be not defiled: 15 Then shall the man bring his wife unto the priest, and he shall bring her offering for her, the tenth [part] of an ephah of barley meal; he shall pour no oil upon it, nor put frankincense thereon; for it [is] an offering of jealousy, an offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance. 16 And the priest shall bring her near, and set her before YAHUAH: 17 And the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel; and of the dust that is in the floor of the tabernacle the priest shall take, and put [it] into the water: 18 And the priest shall set the woman before YAHUAH, and uncover the woman's head, and put the offering of memorial in her hands, which [is] the jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that causeth the curse: 19 And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man have lain with thee, and if thou have not gone aside to uncleanness [with another] instead of your husband, be thou free from this bitter water that causeth the curse: 20 But if thou have gone aside [to another] instead of your husband, and if thou be defiled, and some man have lain with thee beside yours husband: 21 Then the priest shall charge the woman with an oath of cursing, and the priest shall say unto the woman, YAHUAH make thee a curse and an oath among your people, when YAHUAH doth make your thigh to rot, and your belly to swell; 22 And this water that causeth the curse shall go into your bowels, to make [your] belly to swell, and [your] thigh to rot: And the woman shall say, Amen, amen. 23 And the priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall blot [them] out with the bitter water: 24 And he shall cause the woman to drink the bitter water that causeth the curse: and the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, [and become] bitter.
- [Deuteronomy 9:14 KJV] 14 Let me alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under heaven: and I will make of thee a nation mightier and greater than they.
- [2 Kings 14:27 KJV] 27 And YAHUAH said not that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven: but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.
- [Revelation 3:5 KJV] 5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
- [John 8:1-11 KJV] 1 Yahusha went unto the mount of Olives. 2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. 3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, 4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? 6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Yahusha stooped down, and with [his] finger wrote on the ground. 7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. 8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. 9 And they which heard [it], being convicted by [their own] conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, [even] unto the last: and Yahusha was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Yahusha had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those yours accusers? hath no man condemned thee? 11 She said, No man, Lord. And Yahusha said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
- [Luke 10:1-16 KJV] 1 After these things YAHUAH appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. 2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly [is] great, but the labourers [are] few: pray you therefore YAHUAH of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. 3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. 4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way. 5 And into whatsoever house you enter, first say, Peace [be] to this house. 6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again. 7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house. 8 And into whatsoever city you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you: 9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. 10 But into whatsoever city you enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say, 11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be you sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. 12 But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city. 13 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. 14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you. 15 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shall be thrust down to hell. 16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.
